In the powder coating process, proper preparation of the metal surface is crucial. One of the most important stages in this process is washing the metal components in water baths with the appropriate chemicals. The effectiveness of this stage significantly influences the quality of the final coating and the durability of the process. The problem of foreign oils in the washing process<\/h2>\n

The washing of metal surfaces inevitably results in the ingress of foreign oils, which come from a variety of sources such as lubricants, machining coolants or anti-corrosive agents. These oils usually tend to emulsify in the water bath, making their removal more difficult and the cleaning process less effective.<\/p>\n

Specificities of the phosphatising process<\/h2>\n

In particular, in the case of the phosphating process for metal surfaces, there is a intensive oil emulsification in a chemical bath<\/strong>. Phosphates, which form the basis of this process, facilitate emulsion stabilisation, which makes oil separation by traditional mechanical methods significantly more difficult. As a result oil remains suspended in the bath, reducing the efficiency of the entire process.<\/strong> This results in the need for more frequent medium changes, higher operating costs and increased chemical waste generation. In addition, a stable oil emulsion in a phosphate bath negatively influences the quality of the phosphate coatings obtained<\/strong>which can directly translate into reduced durability and adhesion of the powder coating.
