Presentation of Kairos - Sames 100

Is a revolution in surface preparation in powder coating still possible? Most of us are used to "this is the way it is". - Phosphating, high temperatures, waste, long process.... But what if it could all be done differently? At the Sames Varnishing Festival, Kairos Sp. z o.o. showed, using examples of authentic implementations, how costs, process time and energy consumption can be significantly reduced with low-temperature technology - without compromising on quality.

Cold phosphating - a new process in painting, but is it always ideal?

Cold phosphating is an important operation that prepares metal surfaces before powder coating. The cold iron method has become popular mainly due to its lower energy consumption and the simplicity of the process. However, not all commercially available formulations are equally effective - some require higher concentrations, cause excessive sludge formation or do not provide adequate coating quality in harsher conditions.

Phosphating of steel and aluminium - what does it involve and what types of phosphating are there?

Phosphating is the chemical process of forming a phosphate coating, a so-called conversion layer, on the surface of a metal such as steel or aluminium. The process plays a key role in industries where the strength and durability of materials are a priority, such as the automotive, aerospace and construction industries. In this article, we will take a closer look at the specifics of steel and aluminium phosphating, discussing its advantages, disadvantages and technological...

What the implementation of Kairos looks like on through-coating lines

The implementation of Kairos products in pass-through surface preparation lines for powder coating is a process that should be precisely planned. Every paint shop that enters into discussions with us becomes a new challenge for us and the powder coating process is analysed by us in detail. We ask a lot of questions and we do this only to understand the situation and the challenges of a particular...

Salt chamber tests 300h

Corrosion is a constant enemy of all materials and coatings that are exposed to the elements. Proper protection against rust and other forms of corrosion is crucial not only for durability, but also for the safety and functionality of various structures and equipment. One of the most effective tools for assessing the corrosion resistance of materials is the salt chamber test, also known as the salt spray test.

Presentation of Kairos - Wagner 2024

We are making available the presentation Kairos Polska showed at the 18th Wagner Powder and Liquid Coating Symposium. In our presentation, we posited the thesis that 2=10. Reducing the operating temperature of a water bath from 45-50°C to 25-27°C translates into a 10x decrease in energy consumption for heating the bath. In the presentation, we provide evidence for the thesis.

Salt chamber tests

We are proud of our range of products for surface preparation prior to powder coating and would like to share the extremely satisfying results of our salt chamber tests. In this blog post, we will focus on technical aspects and details that may be of interest to paint line professionals.

Packard renovation next stage

If you've been following our company blog you'll remember that not too long ago we wrote about a part-industry and long-term project that we've had the pleasure of looking into for some time now. We are referring to the restoration of a 1934 Packard Twelve Club Sedan 1107 car.
